“I can’t believe she wants you.” Tabitha rolled her eyes at me before popping a piece of shrimp into her mouth.
“I told you, I got the looks and the charm. I make her look good.” I shrugged as I cleaned my spice-coated hands from our shared appetizer of steamed spicy shrimp.
“I thought for sure Kaitlin would want me to represent her. How did you get Emmie to agree to hiring Kaitlin for her new show Live Life Home? I thought she had Vera attached to that.”
Last week Emmie mentioned that Vera was no longer a part of her upcoming lifestyle show. I mentioned that I had a potential client who would be perfect, and Emmie was eager to speak to her.
It worked out perfectly, but I wasn’t going to let Tabitha know that.
“I have my ways.” I took a hefty sip of water as I looked through the large window and out over The Chesapeake Bay. It was only February, so there weren’t any sailboats on the water, but it didn’t make it any less beautiful.
It had been two weeks since Emmie said goodbye to her virginity, and we have been fucking nonstop. She’s more eager than me a lot of the times.
“I guess I should thank you for signing Kaitlin. You did good, little brother.” Tabitha nodded at me.
My mouth fell open in surprise. She had never thanked me. Ever, in our entire lives.
“Are you sick?”
That was it, wasn’t it? She was about to tell me she had some life-threatening illness and only had six months to live. That’s why she had been acting so melancholy lately.
“What? No, I feel perfectly fine. I’ve been thinking lately . . . I don’t thank people enough. I should do that more often.”
Her phone buzzed before I had the chance to ask her if she was on drugs.
“One of my clients.” She held up her cell. “Got to go. Existential emergency. Make sure to put this on the company card,” she said before pushing her chair back and stood. She waved goodbye as she walked away, her phone already firmly pressed to her ear.
I sat there for a moment and gazed out onto the water. I don’t think I had ever been happier than I was right now. I was successful at my job, I just landed a big client, Emmie mentioned that her script editor liked my script, and then there was Emmie . . . She was like every fantasy I ever had about a woman all wrapped up in one person.
I had usually dated blondes but there was something about Emmie that caused me to turn my head. She was different, and I was beginning to realize change was a good thing.
Emmie was smart, successful, confident, and loved my cock. What could be better?
I asked for the check when the waiter came to check on my table. And as I turned in my chair, I noticed a short sexy brunette walk in the restaurant.
Emmie was here. I was about to push back my chair to go over to her when I noticed a man walk in behind her.
